  1. 2012 Day-by-Day - May 21

    Sorry for no update yesterday, attached is the recap from today. No Hitter or Pitcher of the day, but Jeff Manship did go strong in what could be a tryout for the big team. Despite no game from the Twins today, the organization has a much better day, winning in all 4 levels today, all but 1 convincingly.

    Here's the recap:

  2. (FunDay) Monday's Minor League Round-up

    What a difference a day makes! A day after getting beaten at all levels; the system did an about-face and took all four games in convincing fashion.

    Some big-league news: Word came out late afternoon that the Twins are planning to designate Jason Marquis for assignment. Later in the evening it was reported that it wouldn’t happen immediately and that Marquis was with the team in Chicago.

    How you interpret that all is entirely up to you, but I will offer my two cents: ...
  3. Marquis Out. Who Should Replace Him?

ID:	1004No surprise here, but the Twins have reportedly designated Jason Marquis for assignment after the veteran was tagged by the Brewers for eight runs while recording only five outs on Sunday.

    Marquis has never been a particularly good pitcher and I certainly wasn't high on his signing at the time, but I wouldn't have guessed he'd be the worst starter in baseball. From the moment he showed up to spring training, Marquis had nothing; he struggled to get the ball ...

  4. Profiles of the Top 22 Pitchers for the 2012 MLB Draft: Pat Light

To this respect, I am presenting profiles of the top 22 pitching prospects for the 2012 MLB draft.

    I will be presenting these alphabetically, and at the end I will rank them. I will be doing ...

  5. Hats off to Drew Butera

    I would like to personally thank Drew Butera for stepping up in last nights game and throwing an inning in place of a bullpen that was coming apart at the seams. The Minnesota Twins have been known for solid pitching in the past years but who knew it would come from the backup catcher?

    Butera threw a scoreless inning in a blow out loss to the Brewers for the Twins on Sunday afternoon. Now, I will admit that I have been on Butera's case as one of Ron Gardenhire's "chosen ones" ...
  6. Why is it...?

    Why is it that on most days, when I channel surf to ESPN during commercial breaks of the other show I'm watching, I never get an update on how the Twins' game is going, but when they lose a game 16-4 like yesterday it's constantly the game shown on the crawl at the bottom of the screen when I click over there? Ugh.

Or just get something off their mind. Or just post some nonsense. Since there is an off-day today, and there is not much else to do (Twins-wise), I decided to present an unofficial Twins at Twitter guide.

    I have compiled a list of twitter accounts of players ...

  9. Twins should go all in on Greinke

    Original post from North Dakota Twins Fan
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The Twins didn't put up much of a fight on Sunday afternoon and their four game winning streak came to an abrupt end at the hands of the Brewers. When the starting pitcher doesn't make it out of the second inning in a game following an extra-inning affair, it is going to be tough for a team to find success. ...
    But I'm reasonably pleased that the Twins still took the series, and things have been looking less glum. And, yeah, ...
  11. Sunday No-Fun-Day for Twins Organization
    Yesterday was one of the better days the Twins organization has experienced in the last year. They followed that up with a day that ranks somewhere near the bottom.
    The Twins, attempting to sweep the Brewers in Milwaukee for the first time in over thirty years, fell flat on their face, mostly thanks to the right arm of Jason Marquis. While Mauer collecting four hits and Butera impressing in a relief appearance were both silver linings, many of us are left wondering: What is the next ...
  13. Blog Spotting: Draft-Worthy Pitchers
    One of the great things about Twins Daily is that everyone can start up their own Blog. As we have pointed out, the best of the best can be promoted to the front page. Also, we can promoted series as well.
    Over the last week to ten days, frequent Twins Daily contributor Thrylos has been working on a tremendous series called Profiles of the Top 22 Pitchers in the 2012 MLB Draft. It's a great series in which we can learn more about future, potential Minnesota Twins. A few of them will ...
  14. Adopt a Prospect #2: Dreams of Glory
    It's been a couple of weeks since we last checked in on Luis Perdomo, and while the recent road trip has been kind to the Twins (winning four in a row for the first time since mid-June 2011) it has been a little tougher on the bullpen with favorites like Jared Burton suddenly giving up runs. So, is there a chance that Luis might get a call to the bigs?
    No. No, there is not.
    Even if, the bullpen suddenly developed a bad case of leprosy and had their arms fall ...
