  1. Saturday in the Minor League Parks

The Twins lost 9-3 to the Aís on Saturday night. It was a bad games for the Twins right from the start. Cole De Vries gave up four runs in the first innings, the big blast was a three-run homer off the bat of Chris Carter. The Aís hit three more homers in the game. The Twins rang the bases really poorly. The offense did very little against the Aís Tommy Milone. Brian Dozier and Josh Willingham each had solo home runs, but it was far from enough.

With that, here is a look at the Twins ...
  2. Sunday Game Notes

On Sunday afternoon, the Twins last the series finale to the Cubs by a score of 8-2. However, the Twins won yet another series. They will have another day off on Monday before hosting the Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers this coming week. Francisco Liriano started on Sunday for the Twins and gave up four runs on four hits in 5.2 innings. He walked three and struck out six. Trevor Plouffe raised his average to .217 with a 2-4 day. Jamey Carroll was also 2-4. He hit a double and is now ...
  3. Monday Night in the Minors (including Kyle Gibson Update)

As important as Monday was to the Twins organization because of the draft, there was another reason it was important. Kyle Gibson threw off of a mound for the first time since having Tommy John surgery. In a text message, he said that it "went really good!" He added that his "arm felt great!" For Gibson, it was another milestone passed on the way to getting back into some games later this summer!

Ben Revere and Jamey Carroll each had three hits. Josh Willingham hit his 11th homer. Justin ...
  4. Thursday Night Lights and Twins Minor League Weekly

The Twins lost 6-2 to the Blue Jays. Jason Marquis was able to go just four innings. The game was ugly for Twins fans. There were base running errors. There were several defensive errors. There was bad pitching, and bad hitting. Josh Willingham did home for the second straight night. As Gardenhire told the Twin Cities media following the game, ďThings happened out there that really donít happen in high school.Ē I guess itís fair to say that things have to get worse before they get better, but hopefully ...
  5. Tuesday Night Game Notes

The next time someone says that the Twins (or whichever team) is wasting roster spots by signing minor league free agents and hoping, remind them of Jerome Williamsí performance against the Twins on Tuesday night in LA. Formerly one of baseballís top prospects (12-13 years ago), Williams has been signed as a minor league free agent several times. He should be proud of his three-hit shutout against the Twins. He had Twins hitters baffled all night (insert joke about how difficult that really is to ...
  6. Thursday Night Minor League Lights

The Twins had a much-needed day off on Thursday. Players were able to stay at home (or in their hotel room, or wherever theyíre staying), and get some things doneÖ hopefully that included getting some rest. The team will start a series against the Royals at home on Friday night. Hopefully the Twins bats can tee off against lefty Everett Teaford!

Here is a look at the Twins minor league scores and highlights from Thursday:

  7. Tuesday Night Game Notes

The Twins were pretty well dominated by the Red Sox on Tuesday night, losing 11-2. Nick Blackburn was crushed. Matt Maloney was crushed. The offense didnít come through. There was even some bad defense. Itsí a good thing that there are plenty of positive things going on in the Twins farm system to give us positive stuff to talk about!

  8. Monday Night in the Minors

As I type this, the Twins and the Red Sox are sitting at 5-5 in the 7th inning. Who knows how long that game will go. All three Twins minor league games were in the Eastern time zone, so those games are all complete.

Here is a look at the Twins minor league scores and highlights from Sunday:

    ROCHESTER RED WINGS

Rochester residents were the recipient of three inches of snow when they woke up on Monday morning. Fortunately, the Red Wings did not have a scheduled ...
  9. Wednesday Night Game Notes (including Minor Leagues)

The Twins got Win #1 in Game #5, and that has to be a relief to all the players, coaches, the manager and the front office. As a fan, itís kind of nice as well! A very nice 6-5, come-from-behind win. At various times, Josh Willingham, Chris Parmelee, Jamey Carroll, Glen Perkins and Matt Capps played hero. Jeff Gray gets the win! Congrats to the Twins on the win.
The minor league affiliates won three of their four games on Wednesday. In unusual fashion, two of the Twins affiliates played games ...
  10. Organizational Depth Chart: The First Basemen

After looking at the catchers throughout the Twins system yesterday, Iíll be looking at the first basemen today before continuing around the diamond throughout the coming weeks. Again, the purpose is two-fold. First, itís a look at the depth at or near the big leagues. Second, itís a glance at the depth at the position throughout the system. You can find out who might be coming up to the Twins if there is a need, and you can find out who the prospects to watch might be.

    As I did yesterday, ...
