I'm certainly long-winded, but I can't write about everyone! Colabello has been very impressive so far. He doesn't have Arcia's track record, but has been great wherever he has played. I hope he makes it to Minnesota, it would be a great story.

Nothing about Colabello in AAA? He's hitting just as well, if not better, than Arcia is right now. If the Twins didn't have Parmelee and they traded Morneau, they could do worse than Colabello.

God save the Queen! TwinVike, I absolutely will address this question in my next mailbag. I already have some thoughts simmering...

Hey Brad, thanks for starting a mail bag. I always kinda assumed all mailbox questions were made up (or at least compiled paraphrases). Here's a question for your next one: Torii Hunter made some statements welcoming Aaron Hicks to the line of great Twins centerfielders and said he'd hit for power not just be a slap hitter. So who was Torii dissing most?

Thank you for this community service, Brad.
And God help you. God help us all.

I give Korea credit for throwing strikes. Limiting walks can get you a long way, esp. if your stuff is lackluster. There were some hard hit balls mixed in that found gloves too, Peralta creamed one right at Florimon. Avila blasted one on a line about 400 feet to center that Hicks caught. But he is paid to make use of the defense and he certainly did that I guess.

I noticed Parmelee struggling with the inside comebacker against RHPs in spring training and he struck out on one again yesterday. That is a pitch a righthander should fear throwing to a lefthanded power guy, but guys are throwing him there with impunity.

Sanchez looked good. Its easy to forget that he's got 95 mph gas in his back pocket, he doesn't always use it, except in critical situations. Pulled one out against Mauer, eventually putting him away with something off-speed.

    We didn't need him though.

Tigers defense was not as sharp as the Twins all day. right up to Escobar's game winner which was Jackson's ball all the way.

Slowey looked like Slowey. 88 mph meatballs, but somehow managed to limit the damage to 1 run over 5. Just another indication of how down the league is right now in scoring.

Denard Span looks a little fat.

Yeah, if the Twins wanted a patient at bat, they could have used Carroll. I think Gardy wanted a big fly.

Good point, he probably didn't want to strike out at all!

    > You had to figure he wanted no part of striking out four times in his debut.

He probably wanted no part of striking out three times, either, but Mr. Verlander had different ideas.

I was listening to the game and when Wilken Ramirez came up and swung at the first pitch both Gladden and Provus said that was OK. In a roundabout way, they said that he was called on to hit and they didn't mind the aggressive approach. I don't mind it either. He was able to work the count after falling down 0-2.

Oh man, I would have guessed Mastro. That's a crazy percentage, I knew I liked Casilla for a reason.

Here's my record breaker: stolen base percentage record holder is none other than Alexi Casilla, 21 for 22 last year with his only CS either being a pickoff or an overslide, I can't remember which.

My favorite record from the 2012 season: Who is the Twins all-time single season leader in stolen base percentage (min 20 attempts)?

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. It's really fun to talk about just how important the Twins are to all of us. I know it's just a game, but it really becomes more than a game to many of us.
