  1. Twins Fans: Who Are the "99 Percent?"

Who are "the 99 percent" when it
    comes to Twins Territory?
If you made your way to this blog, you're not an average Twins fan. Did you find it from my Twitter account (where I tweet almost exclusively about the Twins and Rock Cats)? Do you subscribe ...
  2. Wednesday's Twins Minor League Daily

Here we are, probably the most boring couple days during the baseball season -- the All-Star break. It was nice to see Joe Mauer get a hit last night, and interesting to see him play first base. It's tough to be too positive about the Twins right now. Sure, Josh Willingham, Ben Revere and Scott Diamond have exceeded expectations, but there's not a whole lot else to hang your hat on if you just look at the Twins right now. So, let's take a look at the affiliates, the Future Twins (#futuretwins if ...
  3. Time to Get Down to Business

After losing 2 lefties in 1 day, the Yankees would
seem to be a logical desitnation
    for Francisco Liriano
After I not-so-closely followed yesterday's Twins debacle on my computer, I realized that this game was the turning point for me. ...
  4. Wednesday's Twins Minor League Daily

Oh boy, it was a rough one for the Twins, who took the "pitch-to-contact" mentality to a new level when they gave up a combined 21 hits to the White Sox in what ended up being an ugly 12-5 loss.

After the game, it was announced that pitcher Kyle Waldorp had been recalled to Minnesota, and Jeff Manship was optioned.

It was also announced that the Twins acquired pitcher Shairon Martis from the Pirates. Don't get too excited; this sounds just like a move to acquire ...

  6. Saturday's Twins Minor League Daily

The big club lost 6-0 to the Reds this evening. Starter Brian Duensing threw 3 shutout innings, and then hit a wall (his own words), giving up 4 runs in the 4th. The Twins accumulated only 3 hits all day. In the end, it was a recipe for yet another loss. All the affiliates were in action today, so let's take a look at all of the action.

Steven Hirschfeld pitched well tonight. In 6 and 2/3 innings, he gave up 1 run (unearned) on 4 hits, striking out 4 ...

  8. Tuesday's Twins Minor League Daily

Well, the Twins lost tonight, 7-2 to the Pirates. At least it was in a beautiful ballpark. I enjoyed watching the Twitter feeds of the Twins beat writers, reporters and other journalists this afternoon, as they were filled with pictures of PNC Park. I have to say, I love Target Field, but PNC just might have us beat. At the very least, it was nice to see Trevor Plouffe continue to swing the hot bat (2-for-3 with a walk), and Denard Span homered. Hopefully they have better luck tomorrow.

  9. Ben Revere: Placeholder??

If Ben Revere's legacy with the Twins is as a speedy outfielder who
was a placeholder until better players developed, that's just fine

  12. One Reason Why the Twins Shouldn't Trade Josh Willingham

    Josh Willingham: Trade Bait?

[Originally published at Twins Fan From Afar]

Over the past few weeks, I have enjoyed reading various posts from other bloggers concerning the Twins' potential trade chips. Names like Denard Span, Matt Capps ...
  13. Wednesday's Twins Minor League Daily

The Twins, looking to continue a pretty good stretch of baseball, started off rough. Starter P.J. Walters lasted only into the first inning, and his velocity was reportedly way down. Walters (or the coaching staff) put the Twins in a hole, and I'm curious what the post-game reports are going to indicate regarding Walters' health to start the game in the first place. Jim Thome hit another mammoth home run at Target Field, an estimated 466 feet. Even at 41 years of age, he still has something left ...
  14. Justin Morneau Casino Night Recap

[Originally published with more pictures at Twins Fan From Afar]

For the second consecutive year, my wife and I made the flight to Minnesota for Justin Morneau's Casino Night. It's a charity event for the Arthritis Foundation -- specifically, juvenile arthritis (Justin's niece suffers from juvenile arthritis). It's part of the Twins week of hope. Instead of hitting up a couple ...
