Do you walk this guy in this situation?
edit: .... yeah. you can't predict that outcome, but why give them a free baserunner in that situation?Last edited by Kirby_Waved_At_Me; 04-21-2012 at 08:08 PM.

Well that was about as frustrating an inning as you can get. Doumit, with the bases loaded, couldn't have hit that ball any harder, unfortunately it was hit right at someone.
Then in the bottom of the inning, a bunch of close plays, close pitches and close calls all go the home team's way, and it's 3-0 Rays.

Top of the lineup, now or never.... or maybe just a later... like in the ninth.

OK, I'm not going to blame this loss on umpiring, but Bell's strike zone has been maddeningly inconsistent tonight.
That called strike 3 on Span was a ball for Pavano a few times, including a key at-bat with Pena that started the 3-run rally.

Congrats to Josh WIllingham on the 15 game hitting streak, tying Kirby Puckett for longest streak to start a season.
Also, nice to see Shields coming out of the game with a couple of runners on in the 9th!!

Very frustrating loss. Hopefully Liriano can come up with his first good start of the season tomorrow and we can still win the series.

No loss is easy to swallow, but we got beat fair and square tonight. Shields was awesome. The Hometowners need to take it in the jaw and make it personal tomorrow.

Examining Oswaldo Arcia's recent struggles
Figuring hitters out, a baseball lifer told me recently, is like trying to untangle a giant knot. At first you just try to attack it in the easiest manner possible. If that does not work, you pick...
