It's good to see a little passion like that sometimes - it was a lousy call, after all - just so long as he doesn't make a habit of jawing at the umps. We need Denard in these games.
I think I remember that now. He tossed his bat. Other than that it pretty surprising to see him get tossed.

Baseball needs an I'm sucking real bad list... Like the DL... If a player reaches predetermined level of lack of production over a predetermined period of time. On to the SRBL they go and a player is called up.

Seriously. It is evident that as soon as he gets hit, he falls apart. I wonder if it is not something like Greinke went through. When adequately treated, the guy became a Cy Young. They should give him some kind of help.

Doumit, Valencia, Plouffe... you guys have to figure out a way to contribute here in the 7th.

edit: I didn't mean contribute to a loss.

edit: Good job taking the walk Plouffe.

edit: Some luck from an A-Rod error gets Hughes on base.

Casilla has hit okay off Sabathia, but not so lucky tonight.

At least Rochester is sticking it to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
A good outing from Robertson tonight.
    Don't blow this Slama!

edit: Wow, Bottom of the 8th Slama conjures Guardado loading the bases, full count to get a strikeout for the third out.

Wow, less than two weeks in and we have 1 starter gone for the year, one pitching just awful, and one with shoulder issues. Gonna be a merry-go-round in the rotation this year.

I am surprised that no one in this thread questioned the move of Maloney in for Liriano. Adding another lefty, and one who kinda sucks at that in a close-ish ballgame is pretty ridiculous. Jeff Gray in the third makes the Yankees make some moves. Instead it was meatball time and a few more runs. Gray could have got them to the 5th.

And yes, while I never thought this was the case before, I do think that Liriano should move to the bullpen. And immediately. Look at Glen Perkins (not now, but in general) and what the move did for him. Pitchers pitch better as relievers and gain velocity. Maybe Liriano can be put into high leverage situations and suddenly he is hitting 94-95 with a good slider that doesn't have to be overused or underused in a relief role.

Would the Twins ever consider moving Liriano to the bullpen? I was at the game last week against the Angels, and he certainly looks good for an inning or two.
