Our guys do realize that they're allowed to actually hit the ball, too, right?

I'm more than a little surprised that Aaron Thompson is getting an inning this early in the game. Is there any chance he's being considered as a LHed specialist?

Thompson is interesting only in that he is so young. He's just 24 years old as a minor leaguer. Hasn't done much. He'll probably be a starter in Rochester (maybe New Britain).

To be honest, I didn't even know who he is. That's why I'm so suprised to see him pitch in front of so many other guys, and not facing left-handers. Weird.

I think they just know before the game what inning they will pitch, regardless of who is coming up. There's not much situational stuff going on this early in camp.

What was that last pitch Manship used for that strikeout? That's not his curve? It jus t dove out of the zone.

Pedro Florimon who is at bat, at least to me, kinda looks like Alexi Casilla.

I'm actually assuming Thompson got an inning early today to see what he could do before all the Yankee minor leaguers come in, knowing he'll be headed to the back fields tomorrow or Tuesday.

Except he is like 5 inches taller than Casilla. I think Florimon is a throw-back to the shortstops of the 80s... Can't really hit, but smooth with the glove.

At this rate, I'd rather have defense over offense.

Mike Hollimon with a blast. So far very impressive Spring. Might be in the conversation for a bench spot.

Some of these pitchers are stepping up. It will be interesting to see who maintains that level of performance as teams give their regular starters more plate appearances each game.

That is the big question, for sure. These are good innings for these guys to work on things and just get used to being in a game situation and on the mound, but will be good to get innings against regulars.

It was a slider. I think Manship is really throwing the ball great!
