You want to know how disengaged I've been this past month of the Twins season? I saw the above lineup, and wondered about Willingham. Upon finding out about his shoulder, I also learned about Mastroianni's broken finger. I've just been checking the daily boxscore, monitoring a few of the batting averages and seeing which pitchers did what, and that's it. Ugh, what a lost season.
PS. With Willingham listed day-to-day, yet not playing, I will go out on a limb and guess that Terry Ryan doesn't intend to trade him in the off-season, otherwise he'd have showcased that the injury isn't more serious. Fine by me, but less to talk about during hot-stove time.Last edited by ashburyjohn; 10-03-2012 at 04:31 PM.

Most interesting angle may be that this is likely Vizquel's last game.

So Ryan doesn't have a problem with Florimon's "consistancy" but yet doesn't hesitate to throw Plouffe under the bus for his?

A fitting end to another putrid season, an offensively inept middle infielder grounds out to end the game.

Alexi closed the season with a little push. He finished above .600 OPS and had 21 SB in 22 attempts, which sets a team record for single season stolen base percentage. I hope it gets him a better job next season. After hearing Ryan not mention Casilla in his summary of the middle infield, I think it is a given that he'll be non-tendered.
