This is the series I've been looking forward to.

Well that was a putrid "ball" call.

Looking at the rosters on the internet, it is clear that even the Indians have a lot more September callups than the Twins. I find this appalling.

Australian Blackburn throws 27 pitches and doesn't get scored on. Well done.

I didn't realize the strike zone was a living, moving, changing thing from batter to batter, pitch to pitch.

This may be another game where the Twins can do nothing against a pitcher whose stats are mediocre. I feel that maybe the Twins have such a losing mentality at this point that they just wish that the season was over.

While Coaching I had my moments of thinking the umpire was an idiot. That all changed when I put the gear on... Grabbed a clicker and actually umped a game.

It is hard.... I had no idea. Did the ball cross at the knees? The catcher will give a view and then shift as the pitch comes in and block your view.

There is little sense for a catcher to try and frame. You can't see the glove anyway. Been umping a couple years now and it's still hard. I'm a lot more empathetic now. All coaches should try it sometime. Parents as well.

With that said... Give the kid a break... He's looking for his first win.

Maybe Frankie could get back out there and pitch? Only 25 years have gone by since his 87 Cy Young season. Just the blink of an eye.
