I would rather have Danny around on the bench to hit lefties than Butera on the bench to do nothing.

Watching Youklis hit makes me angry. Why would anyone ever try that and say I'm comfortable.

Yes... No Hitting Coach is going to say... Kevin have you thought about holding the bat with one hand and tilting directly over your head.
Seriously... How does a stance become that.

Mauer's 2012 spluits:
.322/.405/.448 vs RHP
.340/.445/.443 vs. LHP
Better than 90% of switch hitters

Nice catch Danny... Atta boy. And now Carroll with a nice play... The Twins are going to win this game... I'm calling it. With defense like that it's over.

I doubt it. I'm sure at some point in his career coaches tried to get him to use a more traditional stance/swing, only to give up and let him hit in the way that feels natural to him. Some people are just like that - they only succeed when they are allowed to be unconventional.

That's a great question, but a question we will never get an answer to. When I was in my early teens, there was a guy I played with that had a somewhat similar batting set up... he had some power, but couldn't hit worth a "bleep". I guess Ichiro could fall into this category - but it is a bit of a different story. I guess these guys pop up from time to time. If it ain't broke, why fix it?

CWS defense is so bad, not even elementary baserunning biffs can destroy a rally.

Bad baserunning by Doumit but he tried like hell to stay Alive in the rundown. So a little credit to go along with a big debit.
