Twins placed 1B Justin Morneau on the paternity leave list.
Morneau will be away from the team for the next 24 for 72 hours, as expected. Chris Parmelee is being promoted from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move.

Hoping for a good outing from diamond and some good execution by the offense. I was at the game last night. It was my first time at Kauffman Stadium and it was a great atmosphere.

These throwback jerseys don't help the "Ben Revere gets mistaken for the ball boy" problem.

Gameday said that Mauer sac bunted Revere to second. Is this so? If so, wtf?

I was hoping he was at least bunting for a hit. If the defense shifts on him, he should put down a bunt to keep them honest, but this normally doesn't happen with a runner on first, nor should Mauer bunt at all with a runner on. Maybe he was trying to stay out of the 4-6-3 he likes to hit into at times.

Enough is enough. I hope to never again see the guy with Mauer 7 shaved into his back.
Blech.

Span out of the game. Besides injury, Dick speculated that he could be involved in a transaction.

I am not sure what happened to Span tonight, but he has been playing un-Span like of late, so I wonder if the trade deadline is not getting to him. His average has slipped, he has misplayed fly balls in the outfield, and his baserunning last night (picked off going to third) all could signal a player distracted by the possibility of being traded. What do folks think?

Just like I said they got Duensing wrecked for the rest of the year.

Was absolutely bunting for a hit. He's been showing bunt a few times recently with 3B slightly shifted and playing way back. This was the first one I actually saw him put into play (although I haven't watched Friday's game). He got it a bit too far from the line and too close to the pitcher who made a good bare-handed pickup and got him on a fairly close play.

The Minnesota Twins may not have received a very good start from Scott Diamond, but all four Twins minor league starters pitched very well on Saturday night. Each of them pitched into the 7th inning...
