OK, what happens to this guy? He has had a couple of All-Star seasons and about three seasons where he is terrible. Injuries, satisfaction from a new contract, luck?
Just saw that Bert Blyleven has responded to Reggie Jackson's comments on whether he belongs in the hall of fame:
"God gives us many holes in our body, and he just spoke out of the wrong one. That's the way I look at it."
He did say that Jackson called him to apologize and it is now water under the bridge.
Cole looking sharp, leave him in for one more inning.
I'm also following the Rochester game while I watch the Twins - looks like they are heading into positive territory finally. They are up by 5 in the 6th inning. If they win, they'll be 50-49 on the season.
I would have bet a lot of money Devries wouldn't be pitching in the 6th with a 3-1 lead.
I would have lost.
DeVries has really settled down nicely. At 96 pitches, do you send him out for the 7th? He's on a roll right now - 9 straight batters retired.
OK, that's it - I have had it. I am calling for a boycott on all Twins ticket sales until they deep six those amazingly annoying "sorta deep thoughts" commercials.
Yeash Duensing. Can't be walking a lefty
I will accept giving up one run here.
Let's hope that Duensing's effectiveness as a reliever has not been compromised.
And there's Plouffe's arm.
Half error each to Plouffe and Mauer on that one.
High throw but Mauer needs to catch that.
