Read your story, it's not a getaway game. They're doing a nooner tomorrow.
You're welcome.
Butera hitting before Carroll in the 8-hole... again.... brilliant. Have we ever been given an explanation why?
9th, you?
Per Baseball-Reference - splits for Jamey Carroll
Batting 2nd: .223/.320/.259
Batting 7th: .250/.250/.250
Batting 8th: .174/.296/.174
Batting 9th: .262/.331/.322
I think him batting 9th is just fine.
And when there's two outs, runners on, and Butera comes up we'll be thankful for Carroll's increase average leading off the next inning. :)
Uh...and that wouldn't be a problem if he was batting ninth? I'm not questioning that Butera is the weakest hitter in the lineup, but that's not going to change no matter what position he bats in.
Anyway, you asked for a reason. I gave you a couple - it's common practice with the DH, and Carroll split's. Nobody's saying you have to accept the reasons - trash them if you like.
I think Gardy likes a little speed ahead of Span and Revere, for bunt, hit & run.
Liriano is not helping his trade value by giving up 2 runs in the 1st. Is he focusing too much on striking people out?
