I love your optimism and am praying that you are correct.

There may also be a copyright issue, at least from a very theoretical perspective.

Capps made just two appearances since returning from the DL, and he's headed back there after feeling more soreness in his appearance Monday. An MRI will likely be performed before more is known about how long he'll be sidelined. Obviously, he's no longer an option to be moved before the trade deadline. The Twins will continue to give save chances to Glen Perkins and Jared Burton.

Look at the one bright side - at least this time they didn't wait 5 days to make a decision on whether or not to DL the guy, thus shorthanding the roster.

At this rate, Deduno will exceed 100 pitches sometime in the 4th inning. If the Twins are far behind tonight, I would like to see Butera on the mound so the bullpen can rest.

I am watching the game on gameday...how did Nick score from first on a wild pitch? Or did I miss something else?

That was one of the ugliest 1-run innings I've seen pitched.

For me, there's also a "Who the heck does this guy think he's fooling" issue.

No, he went to 3rd when Deduno threw a pick-off attempt away at 1st. Then, the next batter, a wild pitch brought him home.

I'd love to see Butera in the pen.

    Catching.

    Every day.

    Until he retires.

I'm starting to believe that the 2009/10 joe Mauer might be back for realsie.

Hey, he's the one guy on the roster who has the legitimate ability to do a Tovar. Should be good for novelty in September when the Twins are 20 games back.

That would be great -- kind of like having an older version of Mike Trout.
