That RBI infield single by Dozier was the goofiest thing ever.

With runners on 1st and end, Dozier hit a ball that landed about 10ft from home plate wide of the 1st base line by at least 6 feet. The ball had so much spin on it that it sliced back fair about halfway up the base path. Dozier recognized it was going to be fair and beat out the throw. There was no one guarding home, so the runner on 2nd just ran all the way home.

Why bring in Perkins when the Twins have a big lead? They might need Perkins if the nightcap is close.

Good to see them hit around a lousy pitcher like they should.
More quality out of Diamond, I may become a full convert yet.
Perkins, wtf?"Maybe you could go grab a bat and ball… and learn something. Maybe you will get it."

Nice victory in Game 1. Not that excited about De Vriez pitching the nightcap.

They got Perk up when Diamond was struggling in the eighth, when the lead was only four and there were two on base with one out. I'm guessing they decided, as long as he was already warmed up, better to just use him rather than warm up someone else. In any case, he only threw a handful of pitches, so he is probably avaiable in the evening game as well, if necessary.

Let's take a moment to savor the fact that the Twins are playing a day/night doubleheader and Gardenhire did not use Butera to start either game.
