If I say something nice about what Burton has done this season is he going to follow it up by imploding?

Really decent outing for Frankie though. Just no offense. Either we Get 15 hits or 5, 8 runs or 1. We can't seem to be consistent

Can somebody explain to me why Gardy chose the worst hitter of all the available ones to pinch hit?

If they tie the game and we need a pinch hitter later we have better options. No one on the bench is going to hit one out anyway so not a big deal.

Liriano deserves this win -- hopefully Perkins will end this thing.

He certainly pitched well enough the first six innings. My only gripe is why didn't they have somebody ready to come in at the start of the seventh, just in case? I would have pulled him at the first sign of trouble - he's never gone this deep in a game this year, and when he tires, he tires quickly.

I missed the game -- got stuck at work and barely had time to check ESPN. I just watched highlights and it looks like Liriano's slider was filthy good, and Span made a great catch. Also, Plouffe and Willingham got solid, clutch hits.
