It sounds like Span is battling the flu...hopefully he's back tomorrow. Also, Mauer took BP today and could be available to pinch hit.

I think the reason that Walters will be able to stay in the majors is because he has such great variations in mph between his pitches. Against the first Cubs hitter, he had his fastball at 89 and his offspeed stuff at 73.

If Span has the same flu that I have been having, he could end up on the DL. There is a very nasty summer flu going around this year. And if other players catch it, we are going to be losing a lot of games for a while.

Not a good first inning for the "Wall." A HR and a triple. I hope that he is also not coming down with the flu.

That does appear to be his greatest strength.

Wow, I have no idea what a fielder has to do to be charged with an error. Dropping a routine, soft line drive sure doesn't do it.

Yeah, that's not a "hit" by Revere. That's not even a hit in little league.

Great play by Carroll to finish of a very quick inning for Walters. Nicely done.

After early trouble, the "Wall" is holding. Now we need to blast the Cubs' pitcher into oblivion and wear out their bullpen.

And this is a guy I would've sent packing a long time ago. It's probably a good thing I'm not running this team.

That ball has to be caught by Mastroianni.

Well, hopefully the Twins can get the bats going against this very mediocre pitcher.

Nice double from Carroll, but you simply cannot get thrown out on the bases there.
