We should all be grateful to Seth and the others who start this thread every day.
Does anyone else agree with me that Span should have caught that drive to the wall in the first inning? Pavano pitched out of it, but it looked to me like Span took a very little league looking route.

Willingham had to adjust on a fly in the 1st too - must be something going on with the wind tonight. Still, I've seen Span get those before. I guess with him you tend to expect more.

Fantastic base running and hustle by Mastroianni get Pavano a run in the third. Then Mauer grounds out with two men on.
The new guys seem to be providing a needed spark. I am hoping that the veterans will start playing better.

Yeah, sadly he gave that up, along with three more so far. They're hitting him hard.
Oh my. Look who is up in the pen....

Two on for Dozier and only one out -- we could get back into the game with a couple of hits.

Dick, they did find a shortstop they could stick out there for multiple years......and they traded him away for nothing.

Mauer grounds out to second with runners on 2B and 3B to end the inning. Maybe Mauer needs a day off.

Willingham seems to end up leading off a lot of innings, because Mauer grounded out to end the prior inning. It would be better if Willingham could bat more with men on base.

Zoilo Casanova Versalles! Sadly, he declined after his 1965 (MVP) season.
Here is his Wikipedia entry -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoilo_Versalles
