For once, let's put a quick zero on the board in the top of the 1st and then get a couple runs of our own in the home half. Not only are we not winning games, but it feels like we never even have the lead.

A little anecdote about Boston's lineup tonight: Valentine had to change it, because originally he thought that Liam Hendriks was a LHP and filled it up with righties.

I wish I could share that information with the drunk Boston fan sitting in front of me at the game last night. He was yelling about how bad he hated Valentine for about ten minutes straight simply because Valentine called for a sacrifice bunt in I believe it was the second inning. This information would have probably ilicited a good 45-minute rant.

Plouffe and his .100 BA in preference to Clete's .182, against a righty. Not Doumit either. C'mon Trevor, show us something.

Pedroia doubles to shallow left? That's where Revere is - I thought his speed would eliminate that. Someone who saw the game, tell me what happened?
(That was Yahoo sports. I checked again on ESPN.com and it said deep left. That makes more sense, although I'll still gripe that I thought Revere was supposed to make outfield hits impossible.)Last edited by ashburyjohn; 04-25-2012 at 07:26 PM.

You never want to see your starter throw 30+ pitches in the first inning, but to Liam's credit his control appears well and he didn't get flustered with all the foul balls.

Fire Terry Ryan!!
Is even one Boston hitter going to be made to duck or move his feet, tonight? Guess not. No fight in this team. Starts at the top.

Have the Twins made Aviles move his feet even once in this series, or did they send him a hand written invitation to swing from his heels?
