It is interesting to note that Doumit/Swarzak never connected during live ST games, except possibly live B games.
I hope they'll get on the same page.

Hey Seth, I take it that Doumit will be catching today and that we aren't starting two in RF.

I don't think Hughes is necessarily a better hitter/player than Casilla, but I like him in the lineup. With Revere, Casilla, Span and Carroll all batting back to back we end up with 4 slap hitters in a row. Hughes helps break that up some. Interesting that we haven't seen Plouffe start a game yet, either.

Let it rock... Let's run it up the flag pole and see if someone salutes. Let's throw it against the wall and see if it sticks. I'm all for moving things around a little. Here's to a 1-2 start to the season after today.

I suspect Gardy planned on starting Burroughs at 3b today long before yesterday's game, but the timing couldn't be much better.

Can't really ask for much more from an emergency starter... The Twins have left all their hitting in Spring Training for some reason, just have to hope they figure it out soon.

...groundout to second, pop up, ground out to short etc etc.

This is terrible.

Two extra base hits in 25 innings. So much for the much improved offense

Sigh.........pretty discouraging , not end of the world stuff but just no plate discipline at all, not making Hamel work, too many swings off the plate and nobody seems capable of finding their pitch.

To stay positive, the defense has been stellar, Willingham, Hughes, Burroughs and now Carrol have all made exceptional plays, that's encouraging. Gotta find a silver lining somewhere.

Make that three extra base hits! I'm sad that it makes me happy.

edit to add - ok, the eighth inning belongs to Josh Willingham

Seriously, 2 k's in the 8th inning following back to back double??? Hughes and Doumit haven't had a clue all day, need to pick it up.

Hughes is simply not a major league hitter.

Bring on the Angels! I'm going on Thursday afternoon. There's always another day...

Carroll made another great play today.
Burroughs made a couple great plays today.
Willingham even made a great play today.
I can't remember Delmon ever making that play out in the corner like Josh did today.
So, there you have it. They may have made an upgrade in LF.
RF... To Be Determined...
