Anyone know when/where we might see our first round pick make his debut?

He was sixth on the list of six starters, so I would guess on Thursday, but there's no official notice of that.

I read somewhere that he was not going to be starting for a few weeks.

Both Stewart and 4th round pick Gonsalves have been put on the shelf to rest. They should both debut in a week or 2.

Well he did throw all of 40 innings thus far and he's only had 48 days since his last start. Don't want to overtax that arm.

Am I making things up, or did I see July 10 somewhere?

Its nice that we have an inside source who seems to know exactly what is going on with this 18 year old kid. He at least knows enough to slam the organization he allegedly cheers for. A $$

What they attribute to "rest" is probably just basic work on form and delivery. I assume that most HS pitchers need some tweaking as to arm position, etc. My guess is that when these young guys make their first start the tendency is to try to impress and this presents a need to make sure of the fundamentals.

Mike Berardino tweeted that July 10 estimate:

Stewart is pitching tomorrow...

ABOUT FREAKING TIME..

wait, Appel signed first and is debuting Friday? Oh.

I would guess three innings or less. Wonder if Gonsalves is pitching too.
