Should be a warm one. It's also supposed to be breezy. Does a SW wind indicate the wind blowing out?

Straight out to CF---I have a feeling there are going to be some dented ERAs tonight. The temperature is already hitting over 100F in Northern Iowa and Southwest MN, the intense heat is heading right in this direction---

Twins Promotion this evening?---Blanket Night!

A SW wind is blowing to LF not CF.

From HP to straight Center is Due East. North is the line from First to Third.

Also it looks like the Wind will be out of the West by game time and shifting to WNW by the end of the game. So in that aspect the wind will be to CF/Right Center for the game.

You're right. That's what I said, "straight to CF", right after looking at the weatherunderground forecast, sorry about the mix-up, I shorthanded my answer.

Sometimes I miss the good old days when the winds could be summoned by the flip of a switch:

I worked my arse off today, and because I made more progress on my landscaping project than I ever I imagined I would, my wife absolved me of attending a choir concert. I guess it helped that I broke a toe. It would be a perfect day if she were to come home and tell me we are going out to eat at a craft beer friendly joint.

Since coming to the Sox, Peavey has pretty much owned the Twins. He's coming off an injury (back IIRC), let's see if the Twins can get some good swings against him.

This is going to be one of those games where the Sox will hit a couple solo homers, and we will fart around until Peavy is gone, then have a big inning.

Adam Dunn hit a grounder that Dozier fielded in the outfield. He threw to Morneau for the out, even though Dunn had already crossed the bag.

2 batters late. Gardy was the only one that didn't see that Correia was losing control. So frustrating

I know that now this will appear insincere, but I couldn't believe KC went out to begin the 8th at all with his pitch count... and that it was a tie game in the 8th and all. Another poor managing decision.

I agree in principle, but hasn't the bullpen been getting mangled with overuse? I'm seeing more of Casey Fein than I'm seeing of my kids these days.

Perkins has kinda been criminally underused this season. I wouldn't mind seeing him in the 8th of a tie game if you really need to protect the rest of the pen.

05-14-2013, 09:19 PM
I had no issue leaving Corriea in if we were still behind. Felt like a CG for Peavy, I was ready to concede the loss. But once it was tied I would have gotten him out of there.

Sort of, I guess. But I think most guys are available tonight with the possible exception of Burton. Inexcusable to leave Correia out there. He was clearly losing it and we were lucky to be tied. We hadn't deserved to be tied, but it sure was nice that we were.

KC in the 8th is indefensible.

I know Morneau isn't the hitter he once was, but he has done a really nice job in the field this year.

Dickbert mentioned this was Crain's third year with Chicago. Seems like he's been gone much longer than that. Guess its the interminable nature of the last 2 seasons.

Parmelee's struggles are at the same time being accentuated and minimalized by the solid play of Arcia and Morneau. It's probably going to take a pretty severe and rapid increase in production or he might get labled a goat and never be able to shake it wearing a Twins uniform.

IdahoPilgrim

I'm not going to offer an opinion on whether Gardenhire was right or wrong to leave KC in, or whether the bullpen should have been warming up because I wasn't watching the game, but I wonder if looking ahead was a part of that decision, good or bad as it may be?

We've got Pelfrey going on Wednesday, and that just about guarantees we'll need 3+ innings, if not 4, from the bullpen, and during an afternoon game to boot. I wonder if that factored into his thinking.
