Carroll quickly turning into "Every Other Day" Jamey. He's batting .400 (8/20), with a .455 OBP since getting his semi-regular assignments on April 21.

Like our chances tonight against Dempster. The Twins are batting .320/.393/.493/.889 against Dempster for his career. He has only gone 7 innings twice in 6 starts so far this year, and the Red Sox bullpen is in severe disarray.

I like sitting Hicks for that mistake. His defense has been C- so far. And I think Gardy's doghouse has evolved into a short-term stay type of establishment.

It's a good thing the game is moved to FSN+, otherwise I wouldn't be able to watch the madden challenge (or whatever ridiculous waste of programming this is) on FSN.

Otherwise the player gets dull. If I didn't do my job for 10 days, I'd be rusty. I'd imagine professional ball players suffer from this even more so, since it's much harder to play MLB than to manage a retail store. :p

28th Amendment to the constitution. It was introduced by Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon. It states that anyone with the last name Ramirez must play baseball and once placed on the 25 man roster of MLB. Each Ramirez must have 25 at bats every 45 day interval or 10 IP every 45 day interval depending on position.

Yeah, it's not going out on a limb very far, but the real tips were the .182 average over the past week and the .194/.291/.313 line against...wait for it... righties.

Hicks might be benched or worse. First of all, he's still not hitting and secondly, it looks like he's taking it with him to the outfield. He misjudged the ball he caught and flipped to Dozier. Joe Benson would strike out just as much but I think he has a better chance of getting a hit right now and probably would play a better CF.

Maybe I'm missing context too. Was it like the infamous baserunning 'hustle' play where Hicks ended up in the right spot between 1st and 2nd on the dropped pop fly to center, instead of being gunned down at 3rd like Nickie 'fake hustle' Punto would've been?

And a good call about Kelly. Live exclusively by the 'fundamentals', die by them too. If young players don't live up to Gardy's standards for playing the game right, he will surely lobby the front office to get them off his lawn.
