So...if no one is watching Nishioka does pretty good...

Nishi who? I was just beginning to think that it was nothing more than a bad dream. Reality is...he may well find himself attempting to help the team at Target Field at some point in the season so the more confidence he can get the better.

I tweeted Joe Christensen about the three hits. He replied that Reusse was at the game and Nishi's three singles were a bunt hit and two flares.

Does anyone know how B.J. Hermsen is doing done there?

Of course, it's not just hits we need to see from Nishioka. He was inconsistent last year in every aspect of his game, including mental errors like not leaping on a double play turn. A few good days at the plate won't cure that reputation. However, a really solid year in AAA, including lots of clean, sound fielding, would put him back in line as a possible utility man. Unfortunately for Nishi, the Twins have several good short stops rising quickly through the ranks, and some of them could doubtless play second base, too. His best window of opportunity is long gone.
