4. Kirby Puckett 9. Chuck Knoblauch

I factored in "clutch". Who came through when you needed a hit. No one better then Rod Carew. Being old enough to see everyone on the list play, Rodney was greatest clutch hitter I have ever seen.

Had to add the G-man at the end. Without his glove, bat and heart we would not have won in 1987.

the top three are really interchangeable to me. all the best for different reasons. the bottom 4 i almost didn't even make, as the top six are a couple grades above them. but for the game here, i make them. i doubt wartman will get on any list. and he shouldn't. if he is one of the twins' 10 best hitters of all time... then they where much worse than i remember. joe......... could be be best, but does OBP make one a better hitter? isn't it really about the hit, and not the eye? joe needs home runs to rule the roost, and is trapped in the throws of the "twins way". ortiz is the honorary pick, as he should have always been on the twins. the pick here is a testament to the great career that ryan and gardenhire sent packing for their misguided "twins way", and to any that did not fit in but should have with larger minded and more insightful management.

I too am old enough to have seen all of these players...I voted for players who spent substantial time with Twins not who blossomed elsewhere...no Molitar or Big Papi...

1. Carew (best hitter anywhere over last 50 years)
2. Oliva
3. Killebrew
4.Puckett
5. Mauer

There is a gap
6. Hrbek
7. Allison
8. Morneau
9. Torii
10. Cuddyer

Lymon Bostock belongs in this list too--but too short a time for him...

I had also noted the gap between the top 5 and bottom 5. It's evident in the voting as every single voter except 1 has Carew, Oliva, Killebrew, Puckett, and Mauer as the top 5 in some order.
