Hopefully the Twins can forget the Pittsburgh series and start getting back on the right track this weekend.

Shouldn't be a problem. We just gotta find a way to pitch around the first 5 guys in the lineup.:)

Looking like another series loss to me. 1-2.

I am hoping that Plouffe can get a homer against Homer.

Setting the over under of blackie earned runs at 5.5. I'll take over.

Took him only two batters to balloon his putrid 7.5 ERA

Well, you can't expect to shut down Chris ".264/.304/.348" Heisey.

Do Morneau and Votto talk Canadian to each other on the field?

glunn

At least Plouffe got a hit. Now if only Blackburn could settle down...

FIFY.
My message is too short? What the?

At least the Twins avoid a shutout. Now we can only pray that Blackburn can last 5 innings.

glunn
06-22-2012, 07:15 PM
One run per inning is better than nothing. It will be great if Blackburn can hold the fort for a few more innings.

JB_Iowa

Sigh. It would be so nice to see Blackburn hold a lead for more than an inning.

Pig, what's with the 10 character minimum?

Is there a major league pitcher with worse stuff than Nick Blackburn? It's an honest question. A "sinker" that doesn't sink. That seems to be his entire arsenal.

I hope Terry Ryan has a plan to fix this starting rotation...wow, it really stinks....

Probably, just given the law of averages (30 teams x 12 pitchers = 360 pitchers), but I can appreciate the sentiment. Another disappointing night from Blackie.

I don't think so, and he just blew a perfect opportunity.

Not me. Before that inning he'd allowed 50% of his inherited runners to score. (7/14)

I see you're a Canadian Twins Fan. But do you consider yourself to be a Great Canadian Twins Fan?

Ah, that's why I like it when Perkins pitches. He doesn't just get the job done, it makes it interesting at the same time.:)

Perkins is certainly not Cappsie. He strikes guys out. Yet, he has been a well-placed line drive from blowing both of his save opps against the bottom of the order. What is sad is that Blackburn now has the second-most wins on the Twins staff and he's only one victory behind Diamond.

New vibe? Seems like the same old gripe, moan, second guess and dump on everything and everyone, despite the fact we won vibe that always permeates this board.

On those somewhat rare occasions of a fun win, I like to relish the good things.

Revere and Doumit hit well, Blackburn kept the Twins in the game and the bullpen was money.

There will be plenty of opportunities this season to criticize players after a loss. But when the Twins win such criticism kinda spoils the good feeling that comes from a win.

It seems that dickbert have now been given permission to blame the starting pitching for the team's lack of success. While the numbers bear out fingering the starters for the team's record, it seemed to me that the announcers tiptoed around who to blame until quite recently. Unless there is a miracle with the starting staff, this club isn't going to contend and it now appears that blame will be dumped on only the starting staff.

Either that or blaming Slowey is always an option.
