Yeah, that's where I got it.
oops.

Seemed like that's the one the folks who normally start these threads use.

There.
Mauer must be the DH then.

That looked like vintage Liriano in the second inning. Hopefully he can keep it up.

I'm wondering how short the leash will be and who's likely to releive him in the 4th or 5th inning if needed.

He is throwing balls now.

Yeah, I dont know. If he makes it through 4 with 2 runs or less, we should pull him.

Huge double play. Liriano badly needed that.

Nice atbat by Revere. Let's see if he can wreak havoc on the basepaths now.

I believe Swarzak is scheduled to replace Liriano, of course that could change depending on how deep Liriano goes, but considering he is at 55 pitches after 3 innings he will be out in the 5th inning.

Good job Revere! Used the speed to single then steal 2nd Base! they had better watch out for him.

ross is getting into trouble; Revere on 2, Mauer on 1 with a walk

Not the best I've seen Frankie pitch, but so far it is his best start of the year. Hopefully a trend is developing...

Letting him start against such a poor batting team was a good idea. Maybe this will help him get back on track.

6 strikeouts for frankie.

IdahoPilgrim
05-30-2012, 01:25 PM
But he HAS to stop going 3-0 to leadoff hitters...

Nice recovery, though.

Alright, there we go.

Now, with a 4 run lead, can Frankie pitch into the seventh (or even the eighth)?

Haha... "Frankie" and "trend" in the same sentence.

Given that the trend has been all bad, I'll take this with sugar on top. Easily his best performance of the year, when we needed it most!

sit him down now, he has done enough. Nice start by Francisco.

I think there's a good chance we'll see Butera behind the plate for Liriano's next start.

Absolutely. I'll take an 0-3 from the 8-hitter if it means 6 shutout innings from the starter.

As long as Mauer is the DH and not 1B where he has a .569 OPS this year. I'd prefer to not have a negative WAR at 1B and C everytime Liriano pitches.

It was a great win today and nice series sweep. I know the A's are not a good team, we've got to start some where. There were several positives to take from Liriano's outing: good velocity, nice break on his slider, better mechanics for the most part, and not imploding at the first sign of adversity. Let's hope this continues.
