• Twins vs. Athletics, 07/15/2012, 1:10pm

Cole De Vries had a rough outing last night as the Twins dropped a second consecutive game at home against the Oakland A's. In today's getaway game, the Twins face another tough young pitcher in Jarrod Parker, a righty who, again, made his MLB debut last September and has rolled this season to a 2.97 ERA.

The Twins counter with Brian Duensing, who looks to continue stretching out and get back into starting form. Who do you expect to break out for the Twins offensively today? Do you expect Duensing to shut down the A's offense? And given that it's a Sunday game, what kind of lineup is Gardy going to roll out there today? Join the discussion below!

Six runs in the first two innings. At what point do the fans just stop showing up?

Yeah, this is pretty bad, and it really is about the lefty-righty splits. It's ridiculous. I'm OK with the attempt, and now it needs to end... but who starts?

      It's okay, this is the '88 A's he's facing.

There was no reason to ever stretch him out and try this again.

Another Twins starter throwing batting practice I see.

      Good grief.

This team is pretty bad at the game of baseball right now.

I never again want to read that Target Field is some sort of grand canyon, where HRs are impossible to hit.

Almost have to assume that Duensing doesn't get another start, Blackburn comes back up to the Twins and maybe Robertson gets sent down?

Reminds me of the joy I got from attending Livan's final game in a Twins uniform. Sat in the RF stands above the baggy to try and catch home run balls, but all of them he gave up went to deep center instead...

Duensing has value as a bullpen guy - just accept this fact Twins. Call up some other schmuck and put this guy back where he belongs and never try this again.

I agree. At this point I would rather see Butera start a game than Duensing.

Possible, but this would again anger me as it keeps retreads like Casey Fien & Jeff Gray (who have NO future with team) on the club over a guy like Robertson (left handed specialist only...and a MN developed player) gets the axe.
I hate adding guys over our own developed guys....massive pet peeve.
Duensing probably wouldnt start if PJ Walters didnt have a setback. Walters (back in TCities for an evaluation) said he's not back to square 1 (in Star Tribune) but its a defiante setback.
