• Twins vs. Reds, 06/22/2012, 6:10pm

Coming off an ugly 9-1 loss against the Pirates and a 1-2 series loss in Pittsburgh, the Twins look to get back on track against the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds, fresh off a series sweep in Clevelend, turn to Homer Bailey (5-4, 4.03) for the start while the Twins counter with Nick Blackburn (stats too ugly to mention). The Twins struggled again McDonald last night; will they be able to get back on track against Bailey? Will Blackburn pitch better than the 5 IP, 4 ER lines he has been churning out lately? Should I just go watch Ken Burns' Baseball again?

      Ouch.

Pig, what's with the 10 character minimum?

Is there a major league pitcher with worse stuff than Nick Blackburn? It's an honest question. A "sinker" that doesn't sink. That seems to be his entire arsenal.

Probably, just given the law of averages (30 teams x 12 pitchers = 360 pitchers), but I can appreciate the sentiment. Another disappointing night from Blackie.

Maybe the Twins should just pray for rain every day.

I don't think so, and he just blew a perfect opportunity.

I LOVE it when a pitcher walks home the tieing run! (non-Twins pitchers that is)

Not me. Before that inning he'd allowed 50% of his inherited runners to score. (7/14)

Ah, that's why I like it when Perkins pitches. He doesn't just get the job done, it makes it interesting at the same time.
